Roger Mortimer

Roger Mortimer was born in Essex and his love of art began when he was just four years old when he was bought his first watercolour paint set by his parents.  At the age of nineteen he attended Gloucestershire College of Art and Design and gained a BA Honours Degree in fine Arts and Sculpture.

After College, Roger’s earlier nomadic artistic life was spent going around the British Isles, exploring nature and the countryside which he has now captured in his paintings and his recent sojourn in Norfolk inspired him to paint over a hundred paintings.

He is interested in how people perceive nature and his paintings explore this through colour, mystery, beauty and shape.

Roger has twenty five years of teaching experience in watercolours, oil painting, acrylics and mixed media and is currently artist residence at Brookhill Children’s Centre in Woolwich, South East London.   He lives in Bexleyheath, Kent
