Richard Slater

Artist in residence at the What If...? Gallery

Richard is a well known and respected Artist currently living and working in Kent. Turning professional since his first exhibition in 1978 & has never looked back and has sold numerous artworks in the UK as well as internationally.

He has been commissioned to paint many subjects over the years, from family portraits and public figures such as the Mayor of Greenwich, to landmarks like the Thames Barrier, which has currently sold over 20,00 posters. Also the Millennium Dome, the Cutty Sark & a Russian Submarine to name but a few.

Richard is also a professional model maker and has previously been commissioned by the "Bramah" Tea & Coffee Museum to build 5 professional models of the Cutty Sark and commissioned to build a model of the Dutch East Indiaman for the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew. But one of his most extensive models is that of a large replica of the Titanic that can actually be sailed and is remote controlled.

Richard can be found working on his artworks most days in the What If Gallery and is happy to discuss his art and any commissions that you may be considering.
