Jan Denny
I studied at the Kent Institute of Art and Design - obtaining a ‘Fine Art
Professional Development Award’ and have been painting for many years. I love flowers and their colourful impact and only use the highest quality paints and materials. For my Water Colour paintings I only use Fabriano Artistico 3001b paper, which is a sturdy high quality Water Colour paper. I like to paint flowers in a very detailed technique , although sometimes I prefer to paint in a more contemporary style - inspired by my favourite artist Georgia O’keefe.
Although flowers continue to be a very important part of my work, I also love
to paint animals and especially like to make studies of my own pet English
Pointer. Carrying on from this I have completed many pet commissions. Another
animal study I have just taken a keen interest in, is horse racing. I am just
breaking into this field and find painting horses in action a real challenge
and enjoy the bright vivid colours of the jockey silks. My work has been shown at a number of local Galleries, throughout Kent and surrounding areas. I have sold many of my paintings to individual buyers. (One customer in particular recently buying eight paintings - "(Thank you - Mr & Mrs Leffever) ". Also I recently hired a High Street Gallery in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, which was a very successful and enjoyable venture.
All my original artwork is signed and includes a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity.
